Artist description
Blend jazz influences such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, throw in a dash of black R&B, and mix in a bowl with the modern synthesizers, otherworldly samples and computer-generated sounds. Shrink Wrap serves up a unique style of tunes that come off like a deeper (and perhaps darker) side of contemporary dance, world fusion, and acid jazz. Shrink Wrap's songs come at you like an organically evolving growth generated from a contemporary urban and modern-day eco-political dreamscape. |

Artist History
The brothers Jim and Steve Wilson have both been involved in music one way or another for over 30 years. Jim (sax/keyboards) received a degree in music from Boston University's School of Fine and Applied Arts and has been composing and playing experimental and jazz oriented music ever since. Brother Steve (percussion) grew up listening to and playing black generated R&B and contemporary Jazz. While living and working in Philadelphia, Steve taught university courses, lectured and published widely on such topics as the Psychology of Religion and Shamanism. He was also the driving rhythm machine behind Taboo, a Philly based Jazz/Blues band. Steve moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1995, and now dedicates himself full-time to the music. |
