    Artist History
Rustie Blue was born and raised in the Southeastern part of Ohio, U.S.A., and grew up surrounded by Country Music! Rustie's Grandmother was Lila Jane Travis and Rustie recalls "I come from a large family, and we would always gather around and play music and sing." Rustie of course is also related to the Legendary Merle Travis! She started singing at a very early age, and by the time she was 8 years old, she was singing at her local fairs. Rustie's love for Country Music lead her to many great things over the years; Rustie has opened for such great artists has Whispering Bill Anderson, Aaron Tippin, Daryle Singletary, Jeff Carson, Rhett Akins, and David Lee Murphy to name a few. Rustie has enjoyed much success with her debut album, "That Oughta Do It," with her hit single "I'm Dropping Tears," which climbed to number #7 in August of 2001 on the Worldwide Mainstream Chart (for most played artists), which was Rustie's first single released to the overseas market and has opened many doors for Rustie. In September 2001, Rustie was nominated for Female Vocalist Of The Year, and her album, "That Oughta Do It," was nominated Album Of The Year in Indie Tracker Magazine. Rustie has been in many publications such as "Southern Country," The South's No. 1 British Country Music Magazine, Country Music Round-Up,Country Gazette, Holland's largest magazine, COVER OF January 2002 Issue of H.E.E.T. Magazine, and many more! Rustie has also made numerous TV Appearances such as Fox 28 WTTE, Nashville Video Showcase, and the well known "Bingo Show," which is broadcasted on TV Danmark 2, across the entire country and also seen in Greenland! Rustie has just released her second album entitled, "Enter At Your Own Risk," which is a mix of Traditional Country with a bluesy sound! Rustie's first single on her new album, "Who's She To You," which hit the air waves in January 2002, has already been receiving an enormous amount of airplay and spent 8 weeks in the E.M.S. European Chart and peaked at #17. Rustie's second release, "On and On and On" went to #1 on the "Hot Country Singles Chart" in May of 2002! In addition, Rustie & Grand Ole Opry Member, Ernie Ashworth, best known for "Talk Back Trembling Lips" have just released their first duet together to radio! In Feb of 2002, Rustie went on her first European Tour with Gary Bradshaw of Western Heart Promotions, (WHP), and traveled to such countries as Denmark, Belgium, Hamburg Germany, and Holland, which was a huge success for Rustie ,and due to her success, she was added to Star Music International's American Artist Roster, a Norwegian Booking Agency, after they saw Rustie peform in Fredericshavn Denmark! Rustie will be heading to New Zealand in March/Arpil of 2003, and she has many more thinks in the works! If all of this were not enough, Rustie Blue is also well known for her high energy show and tribute to Dolly Parton in the "Center Stage Legends In Concert Show." Rustie is DYNAMIC ON STAGE AS DOLLY, WHICH SPILLS OVER FROM HER BUBBLY PERSONALITY AS HERSELF! If I would have to sum up Rustie Blue in a few sentences, I would have to say this gal knows whos she is, what she wants, and where she's going! Blue expresses alot of passion for ENTERTAINING, and it comes natural with boundless enthusiasm on stage for her fans! She is as the "Eagle Gazette" recently described her, TRUE BLUE!

    Press Reviews
The Advertiser, August 9, 2002, "Enter At Your Own Risk," RUSTIE BLUE is the gal for me. Fire in her soul and in her country music. This girl has it all----a great voice, a vibrant personality and a knack for picking just the right songs. Enter At Your own Risk (Country Discovery), is an addictive album which blends classics with newer songs without once compromising her love for real country. Selecting tracks to highlight this project is the Devil's own job, for each and every track is a star performance. The soulful I'm Not Going Til I'm Gone will tear your heart out, while the cover of the Presley hit Trouble is full of illicit pleasure. So Close So Far has a winning innocence to it and in contrast, the superb cover of Patsy Clines' In Care Of The Blues is full of worldly wisdon. If you are into real country, add Rustie Blue to your shopping list. Tracks: 10, running time: 30 minutes, rating: 10., Pete Smith, The Advertiser, England.....................................CountryReview.com, August 2002, "Enter At Your Own Risk," In the music business, especially if you're an emerging artist, you'll have your lean moments-your tip jar times. Then in the cycle, fleeting recognition might arrive with "Who'd you say your name was again?" If you're lucky, your pay dirt season, honed out of the exhaustion of endless gigs and slow recognition, might follow. No doubt-2001 was the year hard work met recognition for Rustie Blue. The singer with the auburn waist-length hair bagged it all. After constant small town performing, she finally snared industry nods. Then she secured needed radio-play. Along the way, she gathered fans with her debut album, That Oughta Do It. After home turf promotion that had the album strategically jukebox-placed, and with local and international airplay, Blue watched as her single "I'm Dropping Tears" peaked on Independent charts. Now, with her second album, Enter At YOur Own Risk (Country Discovery Records), she has chart vaulted again. Rustie's manager, Robert Keister-Elvis to Blue's Dolly Parton impression in her stage show-recently shared the news with CountryReview.com Blue's latest single, "On and On and On" has reached top spot on the well-regarded Hilltopper Music Group's Hot Country Singles Chart. rewarding follow through on her breakout year. The year she claimed nominations for Indie Tracker magazine's Female Vocalist of the Year and for Album of the year. Blue's popularity and fan support from the nominations caught the attention of local and international booking agents. This lead to sharing marquee sign and front-of-stage neon with some celebrated talents. Throughout 2001, Blue was the opening act of Whispering Bill Anderson, Daryle Singletary, and David Lee Murphy, amongst others. Her recent promotional tour of Denmark, Belgium, Germany, and Holland has also fattened the fan base. A planned New Zealnad tour for 2003 should do the same. Back to the album. The 10 tracks, referred to in the label biography as traditonal country with a bluesy sound, wrap twang, ballads, and, even, an Elvis cover in a voice, which is making this a popular album for newer fans. The opening track and the first single, "Who's She To You," with it's tale of watched partner dalliance by a concerned lover, is fiddle and steel, powered along by a tight band lead by noted producer and guitarist Mike Headrick. Veteran country singer Whispering Bill Anderson, a Country Music Hall of Fame recipient and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame, provided two songs for the album-the moody "I'm Not Going Till I'm Gone" and the recent radio achiever "On and On and On." "We Built An All Night Fire" is sultry with vocals oozed over mandolin, piano, and fiddle. The tune lingers, smoldering with the inherent dangers of overstaying after a candlelight dinner. Shades of Blue's female influences-Dolly, Reba, Trisha, and Tammy filter through the album. The title track, with it's car crazieness, covers asphalt like Reba's "I'd Rather Drive Around With You," while "So Close So Far" has a lilt, not unlike Garth's sometime singing partner, that is tender and touching. With fearless disregard for comparison, Blue, who has been a professional singer for six years, tackles the Lieber and Stoller-penned Elvis hit, entitled "Trouble." She does it. Fearlessly! The track, pumping with horns, a pounded-piano, and some sexy harmony has Blue strutting her stuff like a Vegas showstopper. She displays an upbeat, energized vocal confidence on the track. She nails the needed notes beautifully and entertaines with pure panache. The track, unashamedly a countrified rendition, is an album standout! Now with a praised album drawing local and international applause, overseas touring possibilities is in the offering, and solid support from fans, it's safe to say-for Rustie Blue, the best is yet to fully come. No doubt., George Peden, CountryReview.com, Australia.....................................Ollie's Country-What can I say, I just loved Rustie's voice and the songs. "I'm Dropping Tears" is just super, and I love women who are strong and this song is just about that; They can make it and don't need to depend on men in pants type attitude. Almost my theme song. "About You" Just beautiful and sensitive, love it. "You Did" Well this song just tells it as it is. "Go To Jail," I love the idea of throwing away the key and leaving the so called man in jail. Rustie sounds a little like Dolly Parton in her early days with Porter Wagoner when she sings "Go To Jail." So far I love what I heard,!Olga Klufinski-Kirby, WYN FM 88.9, Melbourne, Australia.....................................Country FM-"Go To Jail" is the first track and is currently on Hi-Rotation here at Country FM, "You Did" captures the feelings of a bitter break-up and is followed by "I'm Dropping Tears," an upbeat catchy song. "I Want To Be Me Again" is a personal favorite and "About You" and "You Make Me Feel Beautiful" continue to keep your attention! If you have ever had any kind of relationship up or down, this CD has a song that will sum up feelings better than you can. Rustie finishes this album with the title track, "That Oughta Do It," which says it all. I find that having just the right number of tracks is just as important as content and the one thing I have to say about Rustie's album; That these 10 tracks are enough to leave you feeling good-You don't get bored with it. Trust me-Rustie Blue is great! You'll love the album!.......Ron Hoystead, Victoria Australia..................................... Southern Country Magazine, July 2001 says, "That Oughta Do It" is a nice mix of up-tempo and mid-tempo songs and ballads, all in true country mode, with good instrumental work and nice vocals. My pick, the gentle, "You Make Me Feel Beautiful," Sue McCarthy, Southern Country Magazine, England.....................................Country Western Corner Magazine, March 2002 issue, Rustie Blue-Center Stage-"That Oughta Do It" CD album has 10 cuts of power and emotion that is currently driving this artists and the songs up radio charts. "Go To Jail" expresses the power in her vocal ability. Then she comes right back with a smooth heartbreaker titled, "You Did." These are only samples of the best showcase of professional recordings that I've heard in awhile. The production is what is driving a great project there. The Producer, R.D. Keister shows he is a "master" with wonderful style, an ear for what will sell to the public. Each cut gets better than the last. Check it out. I hear it and see it on International Radio Now!............Publisher & Editor, Edward H. King, Sante Fe, TX.......Country
