    Artist description
Seven years in the making, the Legends Trilogy is an ambient musical exploration of a mythical seascape, landscape, and skyscape. Created by Conni St.Pierre with alto flute, Japanese shakuhachi, keyboard, and native flute, the Legends Trilogy reveals a great deal about its maker. The first album in the Legends series, "beneath the waves:Legends of Lost Cities", reflects Conni's lifelong interest in myth, legend and ancient archaeology. The lost cities of Is on the coast of Brittany and Lyonesse in Cornwall, the subjects of ancient deluge legends, are the focus of these instrumental compositions. The resulting recordings have a dreamy watery sound. It is a calm meditative work, easy to listen to, or use as ambience. It is often used for yoga, which doesn't surprise Conni who has practiced yoga since age 13. "Between the branches: Legends of the Wild", the second album in the Legends series, reflects her connection to the forest, the mountains and rivers. It celebrates the beauty, abundance, and diversity of woods and wildlife. While recording the songs for this album, Conni and her husband, producer/engineer Ted St.Pierre, realized one of their dreams with the creation of 100-acre private wildlife sanctuary in the mountains of Maine. Dedicated to the source of her inspiration, the album cover includes some of Conni's wildlife photography - an antlered buck and a black bear - in her graphic design. "Beyond the sky: Legends of the starry night" is the third cd in the series, and completes the Legends cycle of ocean, land, and sky. Many of the tracks for this album were recorded in the forest on the side of Mt. Will near The Outlook studio. Two of the songs include "performances" by a wood thrush (coincidentally, her favorite bird) who was singing along with the flute during the recording. This is the culmination of the trilogy, reflecting the mysteries of the night sky and the transition to dawn. The Pleiades legends are re-created in spacious and soaring songs.
