Artist description
Spygirl is a gripping 5-piece ensemble that shakes and breaks your perceptions of pop music. If spygirl were food it would be a 7-layer mexi dip served up at a speakeasy. If spygirl were a place it would be a dark and shiny metropolis in the middle of the desert.Featuring the sleek and silky vocals of Koralee Tonack this group glides its way across the musical map arriving at a style that is purely original though totally accessible. |

Artist History
Spygirl grew out of a late 1960's style German art duo formed 6 years ago by Koralee Tonack and Jane Gowan. Originally named Time Waits, the band released one CD (This Thin Disguise, 1998). A cooler and more cohesive sound gradually developed as the lineup solidified and the result is spygirl. |

Press Reviews
"...a moody atmospheric debut CD that dashes gently from pop to jazz to mournful blues. The biggest delight here lies in the encycolpedic talents of this experienced crew." (Marie Francis Hill, Westender)"With nods to every style from folk to funk and country to jazz, each song presents a new and highly melodic blend of sound that's matched with insightful, imagistic lyrics." (Jennifer Van Evra, The Vancouver Courier) |
