    Artist description
The Crazed Cowboys represent the revolutionary cutting edge of INDEPENDENT MUSIC. Unfettered by the chains of traditional "big corporate record company" affiliation, The Crazed Cowboys, from St. Louis, Missouri, play a VERY unique style of music, which simply cannot be pigeonholed by demographics and spreadsheets. Blending country, rock and roll, pop, hip hop , folk, and whatever else is lying about, they've created their own genre: HIP HOP COUNTRY!! The music compels you to smile, and to laugh at yourself , at The Crazed Cowboys, and the world around you. The music is great, the vocals unbelievably good, and, perhaps most importantly of all, this music is FUN!!The leadoff song on upcoming album #2, "Damn, It Feels Good to Be a Cowboy!", is IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN!! This song (yes, it's the one from The Wizard Of Oz!!) was recorded on a whim by the boys. It captures the essence of the wonderful original recording, then takes it to a whole new place with its compelling hip hop beat, amazing drum and bass work from Crawdad Heck and George Lee JR., mesmerizing guitar licks from Lefty Z, and the sweet, smoky, relaxed vocal styling of George Lee, Jr. Give it a listen, and there will be no doubt left in your mind or ears: The Crazed Cowboys crawled right inside this classic song, a piece of Americana if there ever was one, and made it their own.George Lee, Jr., bandleader of the Crazed Cowboys, describes their ground-breaking music in this way: "George Strait meets The Beatles gone country at a hip hop rave!"

    Artist History
The Crazed Cowboys have been knocking around together for the last twenty years. They began life and music, together, in high school, where Crawdad, George and Cowboy Maxx formed a friendship through a mutual love of The Rolling Stones and Lou Reed.Lefty Z is the newest addition to the Crazed Cowboys. He goes ALMOST as far back as the rest of the lunatics in the band, having been in two previous bands with George and Cowboy Maxx over the last fifteen years. George has this to say about the Lefty situation: "We never really tell him he's fired, we just quit calling him, and keep whatever gear he's left behind." Lefty's retort: “Third time's a charm, Mr. Junior..." Music is the glue that has held these four friends together over the course of the years, and the styles and tastes of each Crazed Cowboy has had a positive/(erosive?) effect on each of the others. The secret of the Cowboys’ success with audiences, if it can be traced, is probably due to the fact that they like so many varying forms of music, as you’ll see if you give their self-produced CD "Welcome To Hip Hop Country!" a listen. Picture Cowboys jumping about the stage, crazy lights and smoke, and generous amounts of audience participation and laughter. The unique music they've created, loosely called hip hop country, encompasses a broad palette of musical styles: country, rock n roll, hip hop, zydeco, bluegrass, pop...you name it! It's proving to be a big hit with fans from nine to ninety one. Their site and newsletter are ridiculous, yet oddly endearing! Audience response has exceeded anything the boys imagined when they set out on this, the last, latest, greatest incarnation of a group of lifelong friends and lunatics.

Welcome to Hip Hop Country!!!The Crazed Cowboys really do do country different, leading off this album with a hip hop flair for some exceptionally fine country might throw the tried and true among you off, but even a cursory listen to this album will prove these guys carry a mighty weight with their obvious bent towards fun. George Lee Jr. has one of those voices that's to die for. Both smoky baritone and smooth crooner (and knowing when each is called for), this album's got it. Roots guitar chops by Tom Lee and Chris Webb, this album's got it. Cowboy Maxx's awesome percolating drum kit slapping down the skins, this album's got it. Heartfelt odes, barroom grinds, and more, this album's got it. And it's got enough power, warmth, and everything else it takes to make a believer out of anyone, whether you're a little bit country or a little bit whatever. This album... get it. http://www.crazedcowboys.comBy Bryan Bakerhttp://www.gajoob.com"Fun,addicting, unique. You gotta try it if you're a pop fan, a country fan, or neither." Derek Sivers, CD Baby
