Artist History
The Rugburns were formed by singer/songwriter Steve Poltz and guitarist "Dr." Robert Driscoll, who started out playing acoustic shows in coffeehouses in San Diego. Drummer Jeff "Stink" Aafedt and bassist Gregory Page completed the lineup for their debut 1994 release, "Morning Wood," which receivedcommercial airplay nationwide. Soonafter, the band released the "Mommy I'm Sorry" EP, performed to a packed house at South By Southwest and was written up in USA Today's "Rising Act to Watch" section. Priority Records subsequently released "Taking the World By Donkey" in 1995. The Rugburns' music is acoustic-based rock with witty lyrics. Their live shows are energy-packed and spontaneous. The Rugburns have toured with Green Day, Jewel and Sheryl Crow. |
