Artist description
The Inconsiderate Few is a new and unique rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that writes and performs songs described as "candy apple core," "grunge pop," and our favorite, "slop rock." The songs touch on many styles, but everything the band does is about energy, hooks, and emotion. The personal vision of the band's songwriters is expressed in lyrics that have the spine and sensibility to stand on their own, but further enhance (and are enhanced by) the band's catchy and powerful music. The Inconsiderate Few has two principal songwriters, Gregg Orsag (guitar/vox) and Erin Walker (bass/vox). While TIF is a relatively recent creation, having played at venues in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania for approximately a year and a half, Gregg and Erin have been playing together for many years, most recently in the now-defunct Pittsburgh power pop/punk band Mustard. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Gregg played in NYC garage and punk bands, thus nurturing, among other things, his taste for the dulcet tones of approaching subway trains and the harmonies found in crowds, chaos, and garbage. Erin, hailing from Warren, Pennsylvania, brings a sweet and earnest pop sensibility to the group that is often complemented by his offbeat and cutting observations about the realities and unrealities of everyday life. The merging of Gregg's and Erin's diverse musical influences and experiences produces the unique sonic and lyrical "take on things" that is The Inconsiderate Few. The band also features the raucous but tasteful drumming and vocals of Rob Bryan, formerly of Baltimore's "Signals," and the simultaneously edgy and poppy guitar playing of John McElroy. In its brief existence, TIF has performed at many prominent venues in Western Pennsylvania (including shows at Pittsburgh's Club Laga and a recent win at the Slippery Rock University "Battle of the Bands") and with many prominent Pittsburgh bands, including shows with The Buzz Poets, Voodoo Babies, and The Distractions. TIF also headlines a semi-regular monthly gig at Pittsburgh's storied Bloomfield Bridge Tavern. With the recent release of TIF's "Sonic Litter" demo and the anticipated August 2001 release of the band?s first full-length CD, entitled "We Ruined It For Everyone," The Inconsiderate Few plans to expand its already substantial and rabid fan base and to rev up its local and regional presence in the Summer and Fall of 2001. |
