Artist History
I'm Darryl. I've been guitar-crazy since I was very young and now I live in a house full of guitars and other instruments. I thought that my son, Dallas, would turn out to be a guitar player too but it seems that he was born to be a drummer. He started on pots and pans of course but now he's got plenty of high quality drums that he paid for by painting houses. We both play in other bands too, but our favorite gig is being 'The Cornells' and performing music that we do around our home. We've played at barbeques, banquets, bluegrass festivals, coffee houses, school assemblies, churches, and street corners. Dallas is a sophomore in college. He plays in the jazz, concert, and pep bands at school and a ska band outside of school. It seems to me that I've seen him with some books too but don't quote me on this. He is also a house painter, a stiltwalker, and a genius on roller blades. At our house his room is called the "museum". I am a fifth grade teacher at Roosevelt School in Salinas, CA. I do lots of singing with my fifth-graders as well as teaching guitar classes after school and holding weekly sing-along assemblies for all of the kids. |
