Press Reviews
“Breakfast Dance , Terry’s first CD as a band leader, explodes with fully matured ideas. It’s a self released album that sounds like it comes from a major independent label.” --- Aaron Howard, Houston Press “Breakfast Dance has as much fun packed on it as any early Fabulous Thunderbirds or Doug Sahm record allows and just as many twists and turns. It’s hard to miss with this recording for a party or an after hours throwdown.” ---- Rory Clare, HoustonsOther Newsweekly [Sonny Boy Terry] has captured the rich musical essence of the Texas Gulf Coast on his debut CD Breakfast Dance. It moves from straight ahead blues, Latin grooves, Zydeco, swing, bluesy rock, and a touch of jazz All with the sensibilities of a true bluesman. ---- Richard Bush, Delta Snake Daily Blues “Hot off the Press, this [Breakfast Dance] incredible collection of rompin’ stompin’ boogie woogie blues will have you bouncing in no time. With SBT’s solid vocals and howling harp, and the premier artists involved, this can’t be beat! Highly recommended! ---- Dave “Screw Loose” Miller, North of the Border |
