jimmy Van Go is pushing the limits of Jazz, presenting audience-pleasing programs in a unique style that is sure to astound Jazz aficionados everywhere. jimmy's retro-modern fusion of theatre , jazz,urban beat, swing, funk and Latin rythms have three times advanced him on " BET ", cable network's nationally televised Jazz Discovery program. Van Go was a semi-finalist last year and this year under Jazz instrumentials ,and finally won the competiton outright with a featured vocalist.jimmy has also hosted his own radio show on the Treasure Coast's National Public Radio affiliate..Always looking to learn from the masters, jimmy has recently appeared in concert with former Count Basie Trumpeter Melton Mustafa. He cut his jazz teeth performing with greats like Jaco Pastorious and Billy Ross.Van Go ,comes by his eclectic backround naturally.He has studied with John Kitzman(Dallas Symphony), Per Brevig(Metropolitan Opera). jimmy was the youngest touring member of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra and also the Dallas Jazz Orchestra. He has performed with the Dallas Synphony, The Miami Opera Orchestra and Palm Beach Symphony.jimmy also appeared on the television show Jazz Central.He has recorderd on Downtown, Tania, Union Records International, SVS Recordings and Oliva-Cantu Records. |
