Artist History
Lewis broke into the national scene with his first hit, “Whole Lot of Shakin’ Goin’ On.” This longhaired Southerner quickly became known as a rebel, playing the piano furiously, while exploiting his sexuality. Besides his “bad boy” image, Lewis managed to last in the industry largely because of his diverse musicalStyles. His repertoire ranged from slow country ballads, to rockin’ up-beat tunes, keeping Lewis from ever getting classified in one area of music. Lewis was sure to never let anyone show him up, keeping himself in the spotlight at all times. His unique style and antics made Lewis a star from day one, and throughout his life. |
