Artist description
Most of us come to occassional crossroads as we walk our path of life. Eric Lamb, unlike many of us too busy or timid to explore the challenge of the unfamiliar, chose a detour that took his life in an entirely new direction. His CD, 'A Pause in the KAOS', is the artistic expression of that journey. |

Artist History
Already an accomplished guitarist at seventeen, Eric Lamb's career has taken him around the world, playing everything from Rock to New Wave and Punk, with musicians that can now be found in such groups as Guns & Roses, Eddie Money, Jackson Browne, Melissa Etheridge, Robert Palmer and Air Supply. The pop music milieu of the 80's found him performing in clubs like The Whiskey, Madame Wong's, Club Lingerie and The Troubador. However, in 1989, he felt impelled to abandon the frenetic success of the L.A. music scene. It was a decision that transformed his life, but it was not as hasty as it might sound. Eric had previously taken a three year hiatus from Disco driven music in the seventies. During these years in Hawaii, he packed in to Kauai's hidden Hanakapaii Valley, where he spent six contemplative months in a tent. Here he discovered a vortex of energy whose mystical beat surely contributed to his conscious choice to march in a different direction. Whether it was due to this period of reflection, his lifelong studies of various religions and philosophies from Buddhism to the Kabbalah, Eric has found that 'still point of the turning world' described by T.S Eliot. Whatever its Genesis, 'A Pause in the KAOS' is the culmination of this life, this career, and a new direction for music in the century to come. |

Press Reviews
"Eric Lamb has produced and ambiance, an environment in which the listener may be immersed and yet remain undistracted from the accomplishment of tasks at hand, be they meditation, massage, or even the writing of a CD review...I found myself being pulled in to this mantra-esque music,"...The San Diego Songwriters Guild"There is a strength and structure to Lamb's work that, unlike the spontaneous brush of the oriental Sumei artist, is acheived only as the culmination of years of study, experience and discipline. This is music, not only for relaxation and meditation, but music with which to begin a new life, or a new century"...Best of the Best in Arts, Essentially You |
