D' DRUM D' Drum is a five member percussion group from Dallas, Texas. Featuredin an Emmy award winning PBS short film that documents their travels andobservations as related to World Percussion, the group has performed andrecorded extensively. D'Drum is heard on the National Geographic Film,"Lions of Darkness", in addition to the award winning PBS children'sshow "Wishbone". The group has recently released their first CD,entitled "Village Beside Time". As in their performances, the CDfeatures music derived from traditional cultures of Bali, Africa,Persia, and other locales that are blended with the influences ofWestern Classical and Jazz forms. All of the instruments featured on theCD and in performance are acoustic, and of traditional and contemporarydesign. D'Drum will be performing at the Percussive Arts SocietyInternational Convention meeting in Dallas, Nov.15-18. |
