Artist History
Originally formed as a two piece by Rob on guitar and Pam on vocals in the summer of 1997, Chester became a three piece when Tes joined on drums in October 1997 and then a four piece when Chris started playing bass in February 1998. Since then they have clocked up well over 60 gigs (including a European tour), recorded nearly as many songs, released a brace of singles, two full length CDs(one live, one studio) and have continued to impress everyone who crosses their path with their unique blend of enthusiasm, humour and quirkiness... Despite Pam's dearture in early 2000, Chester have continued gigging and recording as a three-piece, and the first recordings from the 2000 line-up are about to see the light of day on various compilations and splits. |

Press Reviews
"...why is this limited edition EP an almost essential purchase? Because the music on offer here comes doused in petrol and set ablaze by a both larger-than-life attitude and a vast reservoir of cartoon energy. Proof that you don't need obscenely expensive production values or a multi-million pound budget to make cracking records." - KERRANG! "Everyone should have as much fun as CHESTER. They've got a loose, frolicky, chaotic feel that reminds me of a poppy BLATZ. CHESTER's lyrics are direct, with simple themes and sing songy choruses. Keep your eyes out for their full length CD" - MAXIMUM ROCK'N'ROLL "Have you ever read a bad review of this band in Maximum? Nope, that should tell you something. Finally, after years of struggling, there's a full-length CD from England's CHESTER. Great manic punk with totally crazy girl vocals. The fact that it sounds great even though it was probably recorded in a toilet somewhere is a testament to this band's natural energy and genuine excitement about playing these songs. It's loose, but it's three-or-four-pints loose. Not lack-of-ability loose. Not a dry spot on this great punk record." - MAXIMUM ROCK'N'ROLL |
