Artist History "Taikutsu is a japanese word that roughly translates to "boredom." And as most of my music is a product of such a state, I decided to name my group appropriately. Although, you can't really call it a group... since Taikutsu exists only of myself.""I started writing music way back in my baby years with smash hits such as "Finger Hands," and a two-fisted rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." What? You don't remember these? Well, you must've been hiding in a plastic K-Mart bag for all of your life... But seriously though, that's when I at least came up with the crazy idea that creating my own songs would be a cool thing to do. All throughout my early years I was singing and enjoying listening to the sound of my voice. Since my dad was a musician and sound designer, I could make all the high quality tape recordings I wanted; along with random bangings of the keyboard. Well, come 8th year of my existance I 'drafted' myself into the Northwest Boy Choir. Through 7 years of training, I developed nearly all of the musical knowledge and skills that I use to this day. I've been composing now for 2 years. But I still havn't learned how to play the piano...""I guess I never learned how to play because I didn't really need to know how to play. I have my voice, brain, ears, and sheet music. That's all I've used to compose, and probably all I'll ever use to compose. I don't use any fancy program that makes up rhythms or drum riffs. That's always the impression people get when I say my music is digital, or that I write stuff on the computer. All the computer does is process the written notes through my keyboard into sampled sounds that resemble real instruments. That's it. I appologize if I'm kinda dragging out this point, but so many people have different ideas about what my music is. My music is notes on a page that are begging for instruments to play them."
