    Artist History
Today, there are very few people who want to please you as much as Strawberry. Strawberry is actually a sort of Super Group comprised of Chicago's best experimental / No Wave artists, united in their goal to deliver genuinely interesting pop music that rises high above today's drab music-as-commodity. While the band members continue to remain annonymous, you may recognize them from their participation elsewhere in Cheer Accident, Bobby Conn, Dead Voices on Air, the Flying Luttenbachers, Hatewave, Lake of Dracula, Lilith, Not Breathing, Quintron, Societas Raffaello Sanzio, and To Live and Shave in LA. Maligned and idolized in Chicago's Wicker Park during the early 1990's, Strawberry was almost destroyed by the attention. Infighting, internecine extortion and ill health all played their part in driving the original members to 3 of earth's corners. One pursued a career in the healing arts. One would have been an inventor. One tried to best all of animalkind. One sacrified his body for money on the streets of Amsterdam. Having overcome incredible adversity, Strawberry now strives to be the band that you'll want to think about for years to come.

    Press Reviews
"Chicago's Strawberry is one of the best live bands in rock today. I've been complaining a lot about how expensive your basic indie/underground shows are in Chicago...$6 shows are $8, and $8 shows are $10 or even $12...but Strawberry is a band that actually puts on a $15 show... I have it on good authority that the singer spent six hours the day of the show getting his hair done... That alone made the show totally worthwhile, not to mention his ability to pirouette with a guitar synthesizer... In fact, when you're talking about the whole "this-is-not-a-fucking-joke" school... these guys are right up there with Andrew W.K." ----------- "Synthy rock Cosmopolitan." ----------- "Wow! what an album! ...a liquid plastic robot bubble gum universe." ----------- "Strawberry's three synth players, skintight matching uniforms, and smirking, overwrought soulfulness was so far beyond either a revival or a critique of the 80's that I have trouble expressing what it was like...maybe some kind of sick Platonic Form of platform-heel Space Fag God Rock... The show was so good I actually blacked out for a while... No I don't know what it was all about, only that I was privileged to be there."
