Artist History
Son of Mauritian National Anthem composer, started to sing in Choir mid 70's. Won a TV song contestin 1978 in Mauritius where I grew up. Sang in Cabarets in Tourist hotels. Joined Misfits 2 band for 4 years. Becamea Christian in 1983 and started singing Gospel. Released a frenchtape album in 1985, "Je suis..." meaning "I am".Sang with the New Testament group in Melbourne, after moving to Australia. Sang with the Advent Brass Band for 4 years. Toured New Caledonia in the Pacific in 1992. Sang in many concerts including charity fund raising concerts. Just toured the USA from June to August 2000, after release of new CD 'CONTRAST'. Sang at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada, in July 2000. Gave 2 shows on KSBN Safe TV (Cable) in Arkansas, broadcast October-November 2000 via Sky Angel Satelite all across USA, Canada, and the Carribean (http://www.safetv.org and go to Purely Music). Back in Australia, touring and reaching Gospel radio stations, with interviews etc.
Mario spent 3 more month recently (June-September 2001) in the USA, where he spent 6 weeks performing in camp meetings, conventions and youth congress and the last 6 weeks giving 11 concerts across the USA. He covered Virginia, Massachusetts, Upstate New York, Maryland, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Washington State, California, Brooklyn NY. |
