Artist History
Now 35 years old, John has been fascinated by the piano since he was 4 years old. He is completely self-taught, learning to play by ear. Although he has been playing piano and composing instrumental songs for a large part of his life, he concentrated on playing bass guitar through a series of progressive rock and jazz bands from high school age until his late 20's. After writing a piano quintet (his first) as a gift for his bride and performing it at his wedding with a string quartet, he was encouraged by one of the violinists (who tours regularly with Yanni)to record some of his original, instrumental music. He took this to heart and released his debut CD, Exit Reality, on his own label. Exit Reality sold several thousand copies throughout the U.S., mainly via Borders Books and Music and through stores that offered listening stations to preview John's music. Exit Reality then caught attention overseas and John signed a deal with a record label in Taiwan, where Exit Reality was also manufactured and sold. He now also has a publishing deal with Peer Music for all of South East Asia. Exit Reality also caught the attention of the television industry and John has done on-air promotion work for E! (Entertainment) Television. All this from a song he wrote as a gift for his bride ("One Life, One Love" on Exit Reality.) |
