Quotes: “We’re looking forward to see this sympathetic bluesman here on stage.”
COLE PRIOR STEVENS / OUT OF THE BLUE / EIGEN BEHEER (58.31)
Every now and then bluesmen from overseas present themselves in order to obtain foothold in Europe. Cole Prior Stevens is one of them, who has the intention to plan a tour this year and he likes to play all possible stages as much as he can. To get an impression of what we can expect of his music he sent us his solo-CD that was released in the year 1999. It contains 14 selfpenned songs that find it’s way back into the roots of pre-war country blues. The main instrument he uses is the National Resophonic and bottleneck he plays varied ways, while the chords mainly serve his excellent singing. Cole doesn’t keep secrecy by means of the lyrics in Meet Me Down At Son’s House, by revealing from where his source of inspiration is to be found, while keeping the whiskey bottle close at hand. Because it happens we are not averse to all stated in this song, this might might be the reason we’re looking forward to see this symphathetic bluesman here on stage.
