Artist description
XLove1969 is an alternative rock project based on the song writing of J.R. DeLoney and developed with the musical support of Devin Weber (bass) and Madison Monroe (guitar). At its core, the thematic approach is characterized by milky, hot, overdriven guitar runs. Based on simple pentatonic progressions, the fuzzy, cutting foreground of straight-ahead riffs is reinforced by the melodic brilliance of Weber's bass guitar and pounding drum beats. DeLoney's songwriting calls on an artful balance of thick, power-hooks, and warm, charming, open-chords that create an ebb and flow of musical energy. Monroe accentuates the generally basic rhythmic protocol with a sophisticated, elegant guitar sound that adds a richly textured harmonic thread to the typically raw rhythimic feel. Lyrically, the influences of Perry Ferrel and Trent Reznor are evident in the deep stereo haze of stacked vocal effects and the seductive, emotionally laden delivery |
