Urban Theory was formed in April 1999. It consists of 4 members, Monica Hardy (vocals), Nathan Devine (bass guitar), Matthew Farr (drums) and Paul Sarno (guitar). The sound produced, to generalise, is that of rock/funk, mixed with soulful melodies. With so many different musical tastes within the band the sound is quite vast and ever changing. |

Artist History
Urban Theory as it’s known now has been in the making for 3 ˝ years. Paul Sarno (guitar) and Nathan Devine (bass) have been best of friends since age 9 and have been playing together since the beginning of 1997. Paul & Nathan have completed various music courses including Creative Options (Kerry Lambe). They had auditioned over 60 vocalists over that time until finally coming across singer to be Monica Hardy. Monica has previous experience in backing vocals for various artists and has performed at exclusive venues such as Bar Broadway, The Cat & Fiddle & The Harbourside Brasserie. Monica has also completed music management courses at JMC.Matthew Farr (drums) has been playing for well over half of his life in various bands such as “Junkmale” which had airplay on numerous radio stations. Matthew being the fourth member who joined in April 1999 now completes Urban Theory. |
