Artist History
I have been making electronic music for over ten years now, starting with bangin' acid techno 303 606 etc. But gradually over the years I slowed down, don't we all, and also got more computer and digitally orientated. I had always wanted to use more samples but was unable to afford dedicated samplers.
A few years ago, however, I purchased my first PC and have never looked back, I mean I loved my Atari but ........... . Equiped with a portable minidisc and microphone, sample manipulation and sequencing software I could finally make the kind of music I had always wanted to.
To be totally original I felt that I had to use my own "found" sounds and then let them dictate the tempo and feel of the track. Rather than start off by thinking I wanted to make, say, a breakbeat track at 132 BPM. Not that I have anything against that type of work you understand. It is only over the last two years that I have come to realise that this is the way I want to work.
I never use factory presets or 'commercially available' 'sample' CD's. I don't necessarily erase the samples after completing a track, I don't use them again in the same form, but I do pitch shift or time compress etc. some of the longer ones and, usually the whole track too, into a new percussive, bass or pad sound that I can use in the next track . I like the idea that a short sound in one track is a whole track in itself, just sped up loads.
Anyway I hope you like the music.
