Artist History
Frustrated by the experience of frequent band break-ups, lahannya opted in 1998 to write and record her own music, sometimes loosely collaborating with other artists. Chancing upon an early version of Drowning, US underground label Zenflesh adopted the song for the Zenflesh five compilation Amduscias. Inspired by the positive feedback from the Zenflesh release, lahannya returned to the studio to expand her repertoire and develop a wider range of material. The result is the eclectic Drowning EP. |

Press Reviews
...mellow dark ethereal guitar pop... (Vital Newsletter) * * * * * ...quite gothic and simply beautiful...(Back Again Webzine) * * * * * ...Lahannya's rather hard, melancholy vocals are quite gripping and complement the stark electronics... (Barcode Webzine) * * * * * ...The finest moments come close to what I loved about Throwing Muses...(Nephilius Webzine) * * * * * ...My favourite song is 'Losing Yourself', a slow burner anchored by a three-note bass drone and sprinkled with acoustic guitar arpeggios, over which Lahannya sings and drones; halfway through, electric guitars come flooding in like an avalanche... (Dark Angel Webzine) * * * * * ...in the vein of a more ambient Garbage...(Satan Stole My Teddybear Webzine) * * * * * ...like the Indigo Girls singing for Lush...(Autoreverse Fanzine) * * * * * ...4AD guitar pop...(Oblivion Webzine) |
