Artist description
Kentaro Harada creates and plays absolute Experimental music with turntable, guitar also some selfmade insturments. In my music, there is no category like Techno, punk, rock and noise.I was born in Hiroshima, Japan and spend my boyhood in Hussa, where is famouse town as American garrison town. One of my hobby was to remodel electronic stuff when I was around low teen. I have been influenced by my father(he is a computer engineer). I found an interest in remodeling anything at first. But after I felt, was around 13,I could do this with music, I started to make sound collage with selfmade(or remodeled) guiter effecters, turntableand open-reel.At my high school age, I was really into music. I listened to tons of records of Pierre Henry, Conlon Nancarriw, Iannis Xenakis, John Zone, Krzysztof Penderecki, Merzbow. Especially New York musicians like Eiiott Sharp from Carbon, Lee Ranald from Sonic Youth and Steve Reich. They really got me. From like that musicians, I got so much powerful inspiration, so I could wrote over 200 songs including short one. In 1995, I moved to middle of Tokyo to And, I made a band with Naoya Iwamitsu(guitar and sequencer-programing) and Satoshi Iwase(guitar, drums and selfmade-instruments), it called "O make O", it stand for "Ochinchin makes Orgasms(ochinchin means DICK in Japanese)" . As "O make O", we done shows at live-houses and open-air rave fest in Tokyo area. "O make O" kept run hard but in 1998 broke up, but members are still in music scene. In Mar. 1999, I went to NewYork to promote my demo tapes, then some record-shops at lower east coast, treated my tapes and sold all of them. But, to my disapointment, still I don't have chance to play in overseas, I'm looking for somewhere let me play... Now I'm planing to move to NewYork. Get in touch with me if you are interested in my work which you can listen on my page. |
