    Artist History
Keiko is a native of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. After forming the female chorus group Mi-Kein 1990, she joined the influential group of musicians known as the B.B.Queens, which was the beginning of her career as a professional musician. In 1991, Mi-Ke released their debut single Omoide no Kujyukuriham and won that year's Best New Comer Award at the Nihon Record Taisho Awards. After releasing Good-by morning a duet with Fusanosuke Kondo, she released her solo single Anatano Yumeno Naka Sotto Shonobikomitai in 1993. She followed that up with three albums: Sunadokei, Kori, and Mangetsu ~rhythm~, which earned her a solid reputation as a singer-songwriter. After forming the female chorus group she joined the influential group of musicians known as the B.B.Queens, which was the beginning of her career as a professional musician.1991: Mi-Ke released their debut single Omoide no Kujyukurihama and won that years Best New Comer Award at the Nihon Record Taisho Awards. The group released many unique hit singles. She delivered many entertaining songs to her fans as the lead vocalist of Mi-Ke. After releasing Good-by morning a duet with a B.B. Queens buddy, Fusanosuke Kondo, she participated in numerous recordings of various artists, contributing as a studio chorus singer.1993: She released her solo single Anatano Yumeno Naka Sotto Shonobikomitai. She had penned her own lyrics for this song. Singing in her own words helped her transform into an artist from just a vocalist, than to a creator. In 1994, she released her first album Sunadokei, in which she took charge of not only the vocals but the song writing as well. This was her beginning as a singer-songwriter. This album ranked number one in the week of its release on the Oricon chart.Following the album up with a series of solid singles, and continued to concentrate on her song writing. Her constant quest for recording only thehighest quality of music finally paid off after two years when she finished recording her second album Kori which was released in 1996. The theme of this album was the everyday feelings that we all have, such as happiness or worries. Her unique philosophy towards love and life where she finds more importance in the happiness of one's mind than the material satisfaction caught the minds of many female listeners. This has become a long selling standard hit album.1998: She released her third album Mangetsu ~rhythm~ . An album filled with songs of many colors, such as pop and light flavored tunes with an acidjazz-like approach or a Swedish pop taste, which revealed a whole new appeal in her. This also included exotic melodies to soothing tunes, which reminds you of old Japanese melodies. Quiet ballads have always been her specialty, but this album proved her to be a vocalist who will not be limited to any special genre, who is always free and capable of wearing all different colors. This album has showcased her talent and maturation as a singer-song writer. 2000: Her range of work extended to writing music for other artists.
