Artist History
Home grown in southeastern Wisconsin, Greenscene has been collecting voyagers on its tuneful trip since its inception in 1995. The group has made over 400 appearances throughout the journey, which has taken them to the corners of Wisconsin, the Midwest, and the U.S.; from the Gothic Theater in Denver, CO where they won Jim Beam’s 2001 Band Search, to the World Famous Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, to showcases in Salt Lake City (NACA), Las Vegas (EAT-M), Portland (NXNW), Austin (SXSW), Harrisburg (MMC), Boston (NEMO), to the set of The Jenny Jones Show in Chicago, and back to Milwaukee’s Summerfest, the largest music festival in the world. Under Ethan Keller's navigation, the band has stamped its musical footprints across the nation. |

Press Reviews
“(Greenscene) stands poised to rock the conventional boat of pop music… a versatile blend of jazz intelligence, good time funkiness, & hip-hop sensibility… at the forefront of a movement that will put Milwaukee on the national radar screen” – (Shepherd Express Newspaper, Milwaukee, WI)
“Unpretentious, fresh & sent out positive energy” – Mia Park (for Chicago’s Roctober Magazine)
“Genre-bending” –(the Onion Newspaper)
“Inventive and refreshing… They bounce, jive & tumble out from the get go… an electric, elastic concoction of sass and soul… a fresh take on southern R&B… superfly swing, folk, hip-hop, jazz… cops a dark after hours glow to its bop, but mostly a hop, skip, and a jump down a sunny road, always full of energy and brimming with confidence.” -Maximum Ink Magazine (Madison, WI)
It's hard to believe there's music like this coming out of Wisconsin… labels shouldn't apply to some groups… they have a lot to say in funky tracks… gently massages the temples… -Ben Ohmhart (MusicDish E-zine)
“One of the best funk-rock bands from the area…” -Nick Carter (for Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel)
“a pulsating mixture of funk, jazz and hip-hop… Watch out for spastic stage antics… -Tim Corcoran (WYOU, Madison, WI)
“(Greenscene) tackles a unique musical concoction of jazz, funk, rock, & hip-hop, and pulls it off well…” Ashley Burkholder (for Fly Magazine, Harrisburg, PA)
“Exceptionally funky bass reminiscent of Flea's more vibrant hair days… tie your shoelaces tight, (Greenscene) may be a bit trippy for those who are straighter laced and more used to formulaic less experimental music. A little bit of jazz, a whole lot a funk and a teeny bit of everything else… like you are a kid in kindergarten kid who has a gazillion bottles of finger paint and the world is your canvas... - “Baby Bree” (- Black Hole E-Zine)
“Space-rocky experimentalism… deftly defying just one category… -Vic Gemmingen (for Geoff Wilbur’s “Renegade” newsletter)
