Artist description
THE SHORT DOCTRINE OF ESSENTIAL BELIEFS: It is a new time. The majority of digital humans spend 90 percent of the 24 hour period shifting from room to room. Are we to become mere pets of this digital media which has opened such bright new doors of sonic creation? We must create, create, create, in response to the rapid growth of technology. We must abandon all preconceived notions of "GOOD" and "BAD", and forge ahead into unforeseen conceptual territory. In the new time, We must abandon "good taste". We must blaze forward at light speed. It is time to generate new musics. The digital format allows for the contemporary sound maestro new many worlds. It allows total replication without generation loss. It can be stretched without pitch change, and pitched without time change. It permits the listener clarity beyond anything analog tape has permitted. synthetic experience is now closer to true experience than ever before. It is time for a marriage. For the audio artist, The digital format, along with the rise of internet technology has enabled us near-infinite worlds of creative freedom, collaboration, and distribution. We, the Roomists, have generated a form of creativity to exploit the efficiency of the new era. Anyone who can say "I AM A FACTORY", can make roomist music. Disposable musics or, audiofacts, are musical snapshots generated and recorded in 1 room in 1 hours time. The general purpose of the audio fact is to marry conceptual time with real time. We celebrate the role of the subconscious. We celebrate the return of the HUMAN ELEMENT to the digital medium. We celebrate the liberation of the improvised form. It is time to move forward. It is a new time. It is time to generate new musics. It is a non-brand new time. signed: the anonymous roomists "I AM A FACTORY" |
