    Press Reviews
"...First up was Fighting Blindly in their first full preformance. This is a new band led by friend and fellow freak Matt Siegel. His band also consisted of Chris Vaccaro of The Rise filling in for Pete Burghol on bass and future Project Mayhem drummer Brian Tedesco. Not many people were up front for these guys, but I'll tell you from experiance, it sucks to be the first band. They played a few song set and dedicated their set to the tragic death of a sophmore at South who commited suicide just a few days before. "-Ike Von Esper, Springfest 2000 _________________________________________________________"...The next band was Fighting Blindly which is led by Matt Siegel and has always had revolving lineups. The band first played together at the Spring Talent Show with Pete Burghol on bass, then playing before Project Mayhem at Springfest with Chris Vaccaro filling in on bass. The drums have always been covered by Brian (now also in Project Mayhem) Tedesco. Today, the bass was covered by myself, Kevin Rankin. Both Brian and I were very unsure of the songs yet somehow we managed to get through the set. I know I was looking at Matts fingers to see what I should be playing and when I found that out I was able to run around like a moron like I usually do. Durring one of the songs Ed tried pouring some water in my mouth. I grabbed the water and started drinking it myself while playing the bassline with one hand. This was funny since Matt couldn't hear the bass and thought I wasn't playing. The last song was of course Naked in Nyack which he wrote about the first infamous Project Mayhem show at the Backdoor where he stripped for CD sales for us after the show. I only wish I got that on video. Anyways, he played that song 1/ 2 naked or the finale. "-Ike Von Esper, Jax's Backyard Bash_____________________________________________________________________"...next was the infamous fighting blindly who's shared the bill with project mayhem several times in the past. matt seigal displayed an interesting musical variety of original songs which fused alternative, pop punk and straight college radio. their set list featured i dream of highways, afraid, stranger, coldest days, and naked in nyack ."-Pat Kigongo, Jax's Backyard Bash
