Artist description
Epiphora is defined as "the watery eye; a disease in which the tears accumulate in the eye and trickle over the cheek." Music has the power to make people feel all emotions, and for me, one of the healing emotions I have experienced is that of crying. I felt that Epiphora was a nifty name for a musical artist (it has a mystique to it), and although I don't expect to make anyone cry with my electronic music, I hope I can touch a nerve now and then. |

Artist History
Epiphora began in 1997 as a simple experiment with a new drum machine ... Get This is the result of the next four years of work. Each song is instrumental, alternating between acoustic and electronic flavors, though I may branch out and collaborate with a vocalist at some point. Some songs have a fast beat and driving rhythm, while others are soothing, relaxing, and meditative. The most common reaction to Epiphora music is that it sounds not only familiar, but also like it belongs on a soundtrack.
I am hoping to get my music as much exposure as I can ... on the radio, online, in people's cars, in their homes, and in their heads. Word of mouth has been my best friend so far. My motto ... if you like what you hear, spread the word, and thanks for listening! |

Press Reviews
"When I first started to listen to this CD, I thought I had put the wrong disk in the player... it sounded like the soundtrack to a CD game, however, it was the right CD. I love electronic music and this CD fills the bill nicely. For a first effort, it is impressive. I didn't find a unifying theme to Epiphora's CD but I don't think that was his intent. The songs on this CD do have a soundtrack flavor but lack the consistency of a soundtrack album or, say, the feel of Enigma's CDs. The strongest cuts to my ear are the title track Get This, Center in Me, and Seventh Ember. If you like electronic, you might like this. According to his bio, Dan has been playing bass for different bands around the Boston area since 1995. His music experience comes through on this CD. 3 stars out of 4." - Mike Walsh (Boston SoundCheck Magazine) |
