Beck (Tower of Power) on drums, a hit single recorded in duet with vocalist Tony Lindsay (Santana), Clifford Coulter (Bill Withers) on keys. Artist History
Dolly and Mitch's music comes from real life and real dreams and real loves. Together they have penned over 100 songs together. Dolly's solo piano and vocals have been compared to Carole King and Tori Amos. They are both multi-instrumentalists. Dolly plays piano, sax, and sings; Mitch plays piano, guitar and bass. They are known to get together with some of the San Francisco Bay Area's finest talent and have "musical parties" in the recording studio to create music with pure intentions and motivations. Their sound is expansive covering many genres, yet so distinctive you will know right away that it is an "M&D" son |

Press Reviews
Here to There: Dolly is a great songwriter and Here to There displays that quite plainly. The lyrics are emotional and thought provoking. Give it a listen. Besonic Scout: switchrock Elissas Song: This song is about admiration for children and it is really beautiful. Harmonic melody and wonderful voice. Besonic Scout: Lorna Don't Worry: Gentleness without anxiety, expression but no exaggeration. A wonderful warm voice that bowled me over. Besonic Scout: Badly Smelling Socks Am I Dreamin'? This song wouldn't sound out of place on an Eagles album. But with a minimal piano accompaniment and a beautiful female vocal it's far too good for that . Besonic Scout: The New Underground
Just listened to Am I Dreamin, and as i write this I'm starting it again. The kind of voice that you
fall in love with immediately out of a dream. The song is excellent. Very cool melody and vocal
line. Excellent song construction. A foundation you could build a house on. I can't find anything
bad to say except it's not long enough. It ends too soon for me. Dolly you are great! Keep
dreamin cause what you create into reality is what we need more of. I dont like intellectualising
too much about music, especially music that appeals to me.....having said that, as a
professional and trained musician, my taste in music naturally reflects a developed set of
values and standards........I like this Singer, I like her song...I like this!...it hits me in the right
spot....warms my heart and I'll say it again; "I Like it".....isnt that the indefinable thing that makes
people buy records, isnt that the quality that we all should all have?.....Dolly has it. Another star!
Piano and vocals of the highest quality, thoughtful lyrical content expressed with feeling.
Reminds us a little of Carole King in the songwriting style - can't be bad! Dolly Rappaport is so
amazing . . .Her keyboard playing is a little Joni Mitchell. . . A little Carole King, and she could
give lessons to some of the gals on Majors today. . .for certain. Her singing style seems
anchored in the folk tradition, but without any thick vibrato. Dolly's singing is pure, and right -on
the pitch, as she questions the validity of the fairy-tale dreams we like to flirt with in life. The
song itself is pure poetry and the chorus well-crafted . . .believe me Dolly, if I'm gonna' sprawl
out over anyone's grand piano . . . hope its' yours! What a catchy hook in the chorus! I really like
your singing Dolly. And let's not forget the lyrics in this song, they are really good. I will have to
listen to your other songs! I think all her songs a very beautiful I really love ( My heart belongs to
you), I sing at many weddings and this is just a perfect song. Its really well written , and Her
singing well it can just make you tear up .... And I really love (Dont worry) very well done also,(
oh how we can all relate) To this song I will for sure return to listen to more of her songs Am I
Dreamin' This song reminded me a little of Brenda Russell's voice and writing style!
ONE-derful!!! Loved the Great colorful lyrics - very creative!!! Dolly has a Beautiful voice and I
really Love her tone*** This one made me The voice and piano are sooooooooo soothing -
ahhhhhhhh! Both are 1st Rate* I first came across Dolly's music on another website, where I
often found my own songs just behind her in the charts .. Dolly is a very talented singer
songwriter and even saxophonist. I understand we'll be hearing more saxophone in
forthcoming recordings. Hotel D'Space is one of my favourite pieces, I love the whistling intro
and the lazy relaxed atmosphere described so well with the vocal. Hey Dolly, thanks for joining.
I listened all your songs and enjoyed your piano/vocal tracks a lot. Thats simply the way these
duetts should be done ! By accident I found the piano/vocal version of *Am I dreamin* on
another server. You really should upload it here as well, this is a terrific song ! Great ARTist
entry, we can't be far away from *mp3.com Best of vocals* station after listening you all ,-) |
