Artist History
This was recorded in March 2000. Since then I've been playing with Tony and a bass player named John Hebert in a trio setting and working on other projects (like a band with trumpet, trombone, and 2 upright bassists). I hope to upload some live recordings but it takes soooo long. I am, however, about to release a live recording of two nights in Brooklyn with a trio of Tony Malaby and Ben Street on NCMeast Records which can be found at www.ncmeast.com.0 |

Tony Malaby - tenor sax, Ben Monder - guitar, Ben Street - bass, Scott McLemore - drums+composition |

Press Reviews
"A knockout on the drums! Constantly engaging the pianist in dialogue... his cymbal and tom work are a particular pleasure." - Larry Nai (Cadence Magazine)
"Caught the drummer a couple of times with Tony Malaby and fell for the itchiness he brought to the music. Like Tom Rainey... McLemore can reveal the sublime side of any and all storms." - Jim Macnie (Village Voice)
"Absolutely the most God-awful sound I've ever heard." - George W. Bush, (Mass Manipulator/Political Puppet)) |
