Artist History
Mommaerts started playing piano at the age of four completing his studies with the Suzuki School of Music and The Royal Conservatory of Music by the age of fourteen. He then started taking up guitar lessons which then led to his first industrial band World Issue. After a few years, Mommaerts and World Issue singer Mike Olivieri formed an alternative band, Blue Dogs Jive. Unfortunately Mommaerts moved to London and it was hard for Mommaerts and the band to play together anymore. Fortunately, Mike and Blue Dogs Jive drummer Steve Tevyaw continued with their music and gradually evolved it to the very successful band Breathe (www.breathethis.com). During this time Mommaerts got heavily involved in the dance music scene. DJ'ing at many raves and various nightclubs, he started to develop a talent for remixing. Remixing songs from The Beastie Boys, Tone Loc, Salt & Pepa and a few others. With the success of his remixes, he then started to produce his own tracks, although he did not own any gear he was approached by various individuals who had gear who wanted to work with him. After he moved back from London, he stopped producing and writing his own tracks, concentrating on performing for the Mommaerts & Millennium Campus Tour (www.mmcampustour.com). With the great success of the Mommaerts & Millennium Campus Tour, he was able to gradually acquire some gear and is currently back to creating his own tracks. Phew! |
