Artist History The Reggae band Medicine Man was started in 1993. At the beginning there were six friends who found themselves addicted to play reggaemusic. They were all musicians, with different musical references, that thought it would be an interesting and tempting challenge to connect to the groove of reggaemusic. After several hours in the rehearsalroom the time had come for Medicine Man’s first performance, which took place at Poseidon in the band’s hometown - Västervik. The years past by and some of the members had to quit. Some new talents had to be found. So, in 1995 Medicine Man changed drummer and two choirgirls joined the group. One year later the percussionist left the band and a girl came who had only played the drums in some other groups. Now she was playing percussion side by side their new drummer and it turned out to be a success. Medicine Man had finally found it’s complete reggaesound and everyone was asking for them. The band was now playing at clubs and festivals creating an musical environment that no listener could resist. Their audience loves them because the bandmembers are dancing, singing and just having fun on the stage, letting the audience become a part of the show. A lot of their songs are classics by Bob Marley as well as other reggae artists. They also play their own music Medicine Man has been played at radio broadcasts all over Sweden. The leadsinger Jonas has performed in a Swedish television contest called * Reach for the stars *, a competition of ‘look a likes’. Jonas contribution to the contest was Quino McWhinney, from the great reggaegroup Big Mountain, with the hit-song "Baby i love your way". Nowadays they are still playing and have joined a Music Agency who have been taking their promotion Cd to record companies in London. So it is just a matter of time before we will see more and hear from Medicine Man in the future...
