Artist History
The savages formed in St. Catharines ON in 1989. Their first independent release was 1990's Dare To Be Different, a collection of the material they had created over their first year. The album was favourably received, largely because of its unique punkish keyboard sound and bizzare lyrical content. After a brief hiatus to go to school, they returned with Emily in 1994.Emily was a significant departure being mostly guitar based and was a mix of noisy rock and catchy folk tunes. After pursuing other projects they re-joined in 2000 on Dadmobile Records and are expected to release a new album in early 2001.The album is expected to further explore the sharp contrast between folky melodic tunes and chaotic feedback-driven passages. |
