Artist description The piano and the voice are the instruments and jazz is the music. Improvisational is the best way to describe Dave's music. The usual label given to improvisational music is jazz but that leaves out a lot of other styles of music that can also be improvisational. Blues, pop, folk, afro-cuban and many other types of music have filtered into Dave's musical consciousness. The piano is a great instrument for exploring music and nothing can match its sound. Improvisational music doesn't just have to be instrumental though. Lyrics can be a jumping off point for improvising.

Artist History Dave is from Ottawa, Canada and now lives in Toronto. He studied music at Humber College with some of the very best Canadian musicians. After college, Dave became a journeyman musician, traveling across Canada with many different groups. After spending some time as a musician in British Columbia, Dave went off to work in the Caribbean as part of a band on a ship. He left the ship in Europe and then settled in Paris for while, which is a great city for music ! Now he's back in Canada, performing and writing music.
