Artist History
Shorter, tighter, faster, those were the ideas back in the summer of 1986 when vocalist Doug Dillon and drummer Bud Mills teamed up with guitarist Dave Gorsuch from INSANITY to start a band called MOSH UNTIL DEATH. The music was like a cross between early D.R.I., Poison Idea, Accused and S.O.D. The songs were played with power and precision and the lyrics have an in your face edge. It was only meant to be a project while Insanity was getting things together, but the material was tight and the lyrics were killer so it stayed in people’s minds. The band played its first show in April of 1987. Shortly after, the bassist called it quits and Bud, the drummer moved away, so unfortunately the band fell apart. Many years later Bud Mills was writing new material with Doug Dillon and they approached Dave Gorsuch who also wrote many new songs and it was decided that it was time for M.U.D. to finally hit the scene again! The original three are still working together with a new bassist, Lou Gilberto and more recently the band added an additional guitarist Scott Dodge both who came from a band called Poverty, which Bud Mills was drumming in before he reunited with Doug Dillon in 1996 to resurrect M.U.D.! After overcoming location problems that put M.U.D. on hold for most of 97 and 98, the band hit the studio in ‘99 and recorded a 19 song release titled “ONE WORLD ORDER” and is now working on a distribution deal. Meanwhile M.U.D. has been playing shows in the San Francisco Bay Area while writing new material for the next release. |
