Artist History Liquid Tight was formed and in 1999. Fueled by Matt Lacy’s solid guitar rifts and Eric Richardson’s explosive voice and energy, the band immediately started formulating its first songs. After only two months of familiarizing themselves with each other they went into The Engine Room and came out with a four song demo called Universal Dream. Even though support from peers was there, they kept it amongst themselves and chose to continue writing. They played a few local open microphone nights in the Indianapolis area to test out their new sounds. The original drummer was replaced by the richly talented Ryan Tearney. With him came a fresh set of intricate symbol workings and phatty beats that not only refueled the original fire in their eyes, but also opened up a whole new scope of possibilities to Liquid Tight. In a strange incident involving a tractor and a bottle of vaseline Ben Elmore (guitar) was lost to other interests. Eric, Matt, and Ryan continued to formulate Liquid Tight’s music. Responding to word of mouth, the band found Pete Wickes. Again, Liquid Tight had a whole new jar of putty to mold with his diverse set of rhythms and patterns. Once the four connected and tightened up, Liquid Tight hit the studio again. This time they tracked a four-song demo. Ben Elmore was their engineer. Great improvements were made since the first demo. With the new demo in hand, Liquid Tight scheduled a night at The Emerson, a local all original/heavy music venue. It was a success. They were actually invited to play the following night and booked two more gigs at The Emerson. The band is currently focusing on promoting, playing shows, and writing more material.
