ESOTERIC formed in July 1992, after the gathering of five individuals, inspired to create dark, innovative music that was evocative to and expressive of the contents of our psyche. One of the most disturbing musical experiences I have ever had was in June 1995 when I witnessed Esoteric live. I sat open-mouthed, ears bleeding, for over an hour as the walls shook around me and the floor vibrated beneath my feet. By the end of the set I had a pounding headache, but I had survived. And what's more, I had loved every minute of it. Esoteric on record is a similarly frightening but equally inviting prospect.
