    Artist description
Greg Ropp has been a fixture of the Erie County music scene for over two decades. Former front man for THE VOID and mind behind 5 EMPTY CHAMBERS, Greg loves creating and sharing music with his friends and audience. THE VOID was an experiment in all out rock and roll, while 5 EMPTY CHAMBERS has been more of an idea than an actual band, one formed to explore different sounds and visions. Greg continues writing songs and performs often at local coffeehouses.

    Artist History
Greg Ropp recorded (but never officially released) lots of cassette tapes during his high school years, mostly for the enjoyment of his fellow stoners. Songs about deformed people, toilets and zombies were but a few of the topics touched upon. While raw and extremely amateurish, Greg learned a lot about tape recorders, effects and crafting songs. In 1983, Greg and a friend named PJ Askey formed the first rough line up of The Void. In 1987, The Void became a full fledged band and became a local favorite for years, drawing large crowds of dedicated fans and winning rave reviews from the press. Several different musicians came and went as The Void jammed on into obscurity. by 1994 Greg was burnt out and pulled the plug on the group for good. 5 Empty Chambers was formed in 1995 as solo CD project, but studio musicians were brought in to flesh things out. Recorded in producer David Peters tiny house in Edinboro Pa., 5 Empty Chambers released their "Wasted and Spent" CD in 1998. The CD got four star reviews, made top ten lists, and Greg, once again, promptly disappeared. 5 Empty Chambers re-emerged as a live band for a couple of private parties and began work on a new CD, but the band dissolved and the album ("Underachieving Super-ego") remains in limbo.Who knows what may happen next? Maybe nothing, maybe heaven. The mind ponders.
