Artist description
Timothy Patrick is a founding member of the band Supersonic. The following is the official bio released for the band Supersonic.Rock is dead. It is an anthem that heads magazine articles in bold type. Its fed to us through song. Unfortunately, it sums up the overall vibe of music in the nineties. And then there were three... Born in the fall of 1998, Timothy Patrick (bass, vocals) and Sean Perry (guitar, vocals) found a perfect mate in drummer Rafael Bernardo. Patrick and Perry, hailing from the East Coast, had previously anchored musical projects Glass Grenades and Tinderbox, while Bernardo had been performing with Robbie Robertson, and later the Bodeans. The three shared a mutual admiration for one another's music and had already established a kinship. As fate would have it, Patrick, Perry, and Bernardo met up in Austin and the inevitable quickly unfolded before them. The time was right for the three to embark on their musical adventure and form Supersonic.Tireless rehearsals, followed by a steady stream of live shows, finds the band on the eve of their six song EP entitled Push. In support of their EP, Supersonic delivered numerous live sets and guest appearances on local television and radio, along with a handful of showcases at SXSW. Supersonic does not politely ask for attention. They demand it. Their shows are marked by unrelenting volume and an intense sound, not unlike the roar of a jet engine ready for take off. It has been said that their sound is akin to an early seventies Who concert. Supersonic's aural attack is anything but discreet. Foundation shaking bass, thunderous drums, and Perry's raucous guitar prove to be building blocks for the band's sound. Another trademark is their soaringmelodies and incisive songwriting. Adventurous three part vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys give insight to the band's strong sense of lyrical form. This conveys not only their sound, but the idea behind the music. Supersonic's in-your-face, raw powered music and ballsy antics prove to be effective on stage as well as off. Their energy is unfettered. This just may be the band to prove that rock... is NOT dead. |
