Musical Influences Ska

Artist History Stiliti started their live activity in the valleys of Canavese (North Italy) at the end of 1993. At the beginning the group was primarily devoted to SKA, a kind of music not in vogue in Italy at that time. In a couple of years their live activity expanded to north and centre of Italy. In this period they produced their first official demo-tape, which contains eight tracks of their own composition. In June of 1995 they begun to collaborate with the most famous ska bands in Italy such as Statuto and Persiana Jones. This allowed Stiliti to play all over the peninsula. After several exhibitions in the two following years as support band of Persiana Jones, Pitura Freska, RNT, Statuto, they recorded their second demo-tape, produced in collaboration with Pippo Monaro, at Blue Music Studios in Turin, containing four new songs, of their own composition again. In that period started a revaluation of ska in Italy and Stiliti become more and more renowned in the independent musical scene. In April 1999 come out the first official CD of the band entitled "Vivo" (I live) with the collaboration of UAZ Record of Persiana Jones, artistically produced by Pippo Monaro. The promotional tour bringed the band to perform live hundreds of gigs within a couple of years. The CD received notable consents by critics on several magazines. Stiliti participated to several compilations too, among which is "Italian ska invasion" together with the best groups of the Italian ska scene. The group reached a new musical maturity, so it felt the necessity, in the winter of 2001, to record a new CD "Nella strada" (In the Road) (alma music/Tube Records) containing thirteen songs. A mix of traditional ska music and new sounds and rhythms, as rocksteady, 80's disco, and punk rock. A particular track is the cover version of "L'estate sta finendo" (Summer is ending) a great success in Italy during the eighties by Righeira, completely revised according to the unmistakable style of the band. In this song the singer Paul duets in fact with Johnson Righeira himself.
