Artist description
Hakenberg's compositions include works for a wide variety of media, from solo chamber music, to stage works, to interactive multimedia installations. Composing in collaboration with amateurs, and the integration of players from the folk music world or of non-western background are particularly important aspects of Hakenberg's creative thought. Full of innovations his work is an ongoing reflection on the forms of artistic behavior of his peers who he finds along an international career that took him from Henze's alternative cultural projects to Harvard's ivory tower, to the particularly Asian mix of cultures in Seoul, to creating new music in Alaska's panhandle archipelago. |
