Artist History
Skurf was concieved of before my freshman year of highschool (summer of 2000). Originally it was going to be me, my friend and his cousin were going to start up a band, I started to get the ground work for some songs, but we never got together. So I just kept writing more and more songs eventually what I figured to be enough songs for an EP which I presented to my band mates whom listened to it and said it was good and they were working on parts to add on to it. Which then we never got around to putting it all together. So I kept writing and making music and going through crappy times with girlfriends and all and eventually created Chapter 1 Learning How To Sing in my sophmore year in highschool April 15th, 2001, which is by far the crappiest thing in the world if you've ever listened to it, but it's better than the Long Way EP that I made initially. As time progressed I kinda forgot about Skurf not really doing to much with it except singing the songs in my computer room by myself and making a couple copies of the cd to give to my friends, until I met a girl named Jessica. As time passed I liked her even more, even when some absolutly horriable things were going on in my life and her life. I really wished she would be with me, but I knew that was unreasonable yet anyways during the summer she went on vacations for long periods of time which was hard on me of course so out of that to help me try to get through that de-attahment I turned toward making music of course, like everyone does and out of that plus some writings prior Girl With The Long Brown Hair July 27th, 2001 as you know it came about (the real name of it is Chapter 2 The Girl With The Long Brown Hair but that was to many characters for mp3.com). I didn't really mean Chapter 2 to end up the way that it did, origanaly it didn't have the Chapter 2 in front of it and was just a plain old EP my feelings were in such turmoil it distracted me from what I was really working on at the time which was Frozen In Time which was going to be Skurf in full arangement, but of course me being young and very stupid The Girl With The Long Brown Hair became a chapter of it's own and my dream of Frozen In Time never happened. Then realizing I was living inside a dream the world came crashing down on me and during the worst time ever I met Tasha who I told all about how I make music and stuff under the name Skurf, she took interest in it which amazed me since most people insisted that I was horrable (www.garageband.com). So for a week and a half I kept myself extremly busy with song writing and recording which I would like to say captured my post Chapter 2 feelings as well as some other things that were bothering me. In which all in all created Chapter 3 Hopes Wishes Dreams Dead (on mp3.com it's Chapter 3 Hopes Dreams Dead). That is probably the last CD of my worthless carrer of Skurf. Though I might feel intrigued enough to write some new songs for some odd reason. Now currently I'm playing in a band called The Silverfish Project with my two good friends and I'm the main stringed instrument player person, I definatly don't sing, thank god. |
