Artist History
Skeleton Crew began in Starkville, MS, in 1987, playing theatres, street festivals, crawdad boils, frat parties, nightclubs & bars, & 'keggers' across Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, & Georgia to spread their quirky, category-defying musical gospel across the land & eventually getting tons of local airplay. The boys packed their gear up & moved to Los Angeles in 1992, changing their name to Torture Orchid to avoid confusion with the other hundred or so Skeleton Crews around by that point. They were received favorably on the club circuit, garnering a host of good reviews & interest from A&R. Unfortunately, after a few years, chiseling away at the Corporate Rock finally took a toll on the band, & they went their separate ways |

Press Reviews
from Music Connection, Mar 1/93: In a music scene too often populated with trite rehashes & subliterate lyrics, Torture Orchid [formerly Skeleton Crew] is a welcome breeze. |
