Artist History
We met while studying Music Recording Technology at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. We had been together one week before we played our first gig. When we didn't crash and burn, we realized we might be on to something. We used our growing skills as recording engineers to record a CD three months after we formed. Hey, studio time was included with tuition. Now three years and two CDs later, we feel that we are starting to come into our own. 2001 here we come |

Press Reviews
July 1999 Issue Unsung Hero MagazineIs it Powere Pop? Folk Funk? None of these labels really fit a band that can shift gears so quickly and smoothly. "Who Gives Ya Candy?" is a gorgeous blend of acoustic strumming and fuzzed-out chords baked into a slick, ever-shifting, up-tempo rhythm section that's anchored by Matt Miller and Mike Washkevich. Vocals and guitars are handled by Jason Drayer, whose skill at both is more than remarkable-his vocal chops landing somewhere in between Geddy Lee and Morissey. Miller's bass is solid yet imaginative; his hip use of effects is a stylistic signature. Washkevich's percussion is equally sharp and adept, bringing a great funk feel and smooth rolls to an already eclectic table of talent. Sound Strange? You bet your skinny white booty it is. "Who Gives Ya Candy?" is a complex rhythm buffet that's fluent and digestible, a four course meal disguised in a breakfast burrito. This disc bathes in the natural oblivion of its own juices-uniquely new yet not ridiculous-challenging its audience to disobey the norm without them ever knowing it. If the music industry could pull its head out of its own ass long enough to turn the record over, bands like Nowhere Quick would restore respect to the Shit Mill in a second. For now, steady on boys. |
