    Artist description
KiNG is blending rock and blues from the 60s, punkrock from the late 70s, and the ever present Guns 'n' Roses, but stand out from the usual suspects by adding a very important parameter - really catchy choruses. Always clocking in under three minutes, the music of KiNG is aiming for the groin/ass area, and are often hard to shake off. Having performed almost a hundred shows on well-known venues both in Sweden and elsewhere in the world, KiNG rocks both on and off stage like the heydays of Môtley Crüe, and attracts crowds from different subcultures and genres. Young punk rockers and teenage girls are dancing and making out, quite often seeing ladies man Kristoffer singing his way through the crowd. Opening for Swedish top acts like The Ark, The Motorhomes, The Mo, The Klerks and Melody Club, KiNG are also respected among their peers, and their reputation has earned them the aforementioned key support slots, serious media coverage, and quite a few free drinks throughout the years.

    Press Reviews
Review from Chili (Sweden): "King is loads of humour and musical competence. Big-band horns and Jerry Lee Lewis echoes bring your thoughts to the 40's, but combined with old Mötley Crüe, The Commitments and some lighter pop-punk-bands from the 70's it still feels modern. The energy flows without end and the joy infects choruses like "Murder in the bedroom, lipstick on your color, tonight will change your life". Now and then tiny misses have slipped in but that doesn't ruin the overall impression, instead it amplifies it. (Rate: 5/5)". Review from Labyrint (Sweden): "[...] It's fresher then The Ark, more vigorous, straggling, punk, and modern, but above all fresher. A bit too pretentious to be called NY-rock. On the other hand, why always draw parallels to bands across the Atlantic, although it's hard not to. I can't help it, not just now; King is a mixture of The Ark and Strokes. That's right. It's an offspring from T-Rex, Talking Heads, Television and from early, fast Roxy Music. An offspring from the post-punk. And somehow I think that Jean-Pierre Barda and his Army of Lovers have injected a few genes to develop this offspring. [...] (Rate: 10/10)". Review from Noirozine (Sweden): "[...] For sure this is good! I find myself sitting, digging my head in time with the music, and all the tracks named "82´s (Baby don´t you want me?)", "Charlotte" and "Lipstick" treat you some cool fuckin' shake-rock-n´-roll-twist-music that invites to party! A live feeling turns up quite instantly when you hear all the mentioned tracks, and I start wondering how good-looking the band really is live? [...](Rate: 4/5)". Review from Count Me In (UK): "[...]. Think the energy of The Beatles singing Twist & Shout, a pile glam rock, lot's of 'woah oh's' all mixed up with some good old Punk Rock attitude. All 3 songs are so good that I'm worn out after listening to them". Review from Splendid E-zine (US): "I intentionally ignored the Hives, so it has fallen to these three exciting, up-from-the-dirt rockers to annihilate my vision of Sweden. The opening "82's" is like the raucous rock made from Slade and Hanoi Rocks in the days before generic hair metal, while "Charlotte" has vocalist Kristoffer singing with lip down to his chin. I've never heard so much saliva spat in a song. The final track, "Lipstick (Murder in the bedroom)", is "Smokin in the Bedroom", millennium style. It's bloodier, and more about sex than hoodlum posing. [...]" Review from RevalationZ Magazine (Denmark): [...] Overall this album sounds refreshing. King uses simple remedies to create their retro-rock. For sure the music suits a small sweaty club scene, where King can unfold all their stored energy. Guitars, bass and a drummer are really all it takes and I would love to experience if King also have the ability to entertain a crowd. Well, I am pretty sure that they posse that ability. [...]".
