Artist description Dream Art Science is a COSTAR cluster. We meld Ancient Egyptian themes with the poetry of astrophysics, powered by Rasta-inspired grooves and melodic rock guitars. We are metaphorists, utilizing the "allegorical method", whereby artists of one culture enhance the ability of their own people to get a handle on crucial challenges of their time by overlaying the mythology of another culture onto their own issues. Believing that in our era the common task at hand is to "reinvent our species" by giving birth to a human community that benefits rather than destroys the larger Earth community, we are currently exploring the effectiveness of using, as an allegory for this process, the Ancient Egyptian mythology of the creation of the world by Atum-Re, who awoke from non-existence within the infinite, primordial waters of Nun by laying a foundation in his/her heart. Because even such a mysterious and richly detailed story as that cannot contain the wonder and tension of the story of our own amazing era, we simultaneously overlay onto our Reggae grooves and rock guitars the epic origin story of the birth of our star, The Sun, as told by our contemporary cosmologists, modern scientists. Artist History Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Beverly met San Franciscan Kevin Shrieve in New York City, where they began experimenting together with space-time alchemy recipes, heating up Reggae grooves with American rock guitars. Now they live and play in San Francisco.
