Artist History I've been playing since I was 12. Around 1980 I got my first $50 guitar from Sears.I danced around with it in front of the mirror for a few days before I realized I should probably get some lessons. I tried to get lessons from a couple of friends' older brothers, but they where usually too busy, so I decided to teach myself. For the first 8 years I basically played whenever I could, some days 9 hours most days 3 hours or until the pain in my wrist was unbareable but welcomed. Now I have a very demanding life, but still play whenever possible. I have limited material because of my limited time, but anything I finish I will be adding to my website at www.stevedowney.net.
