Artist History ScannAr was originally formed under the name of "Minds Eye" in November 1999 and featured only Dominic and Leon. The duo played covers acoustically and it wasn't until December 1999 that the first original songs, "Best Days" and "One More Time", were performed in public.January 2000 saw Dominic's brother Ben join the band on drums. Three more songs followed, "Mrs Movie Star, "Goodbye" and "Old Flame".In March 2000 Peter joined the band on bass guitar to complete the current line-up. Between March and July many more new songs were written including: "Start Again"; "Flat Mate"; "Aint It Strange"; "For How Long"; "Two Many Messages"; "#1" and "With Cream". June 2000 brought new ideas and a change of name. After spending a whole weekend thinking of a name and coming up with Vista, Echo and Kartell, the name ScannAr looked best on paper and seemed appropriate with respect to the lights we used and the technological aspect.
