Artist description
Art Mayes writes songs on a refurbished Simon&Patrick Luthier Acoustic/Electric. He can't help but smile alot when a song he writes is a challenge to play, and hopes that same feeling will envelop listeners when they discover that it's fun to listen to. |

Artist History
Art is a young singer/songwriter who's trying to explore the extreme ends of what an acoustic guitar can do. He's also hung-up on lyrical content. He started playing guitar in 1995, locked himself in a room with cheese quesadillas, cigarettes, one beat-up guitar and a few illicit substances for roughly three years, and emerged with 15 songs, which he then recorded with the Noon Blue Apples Project. His new album, "artmayes", has finished post-production and is currently available. See http://artmayes.indiegroup.com for more info. |

Press Reviews
"It's good, but it's not my thing." - Blood Rituals"This is 'sit back and zone' music. So that's what I did." - Protean Network"This is nothing like early-Beatles, and nothing like Marilyn Manson, and nothing like Michael Jackson. If I have to compare it to something, lock Billy Corgan and "Sixpence None the Richer" in a studio together for a week with a bag of weed, and they might come up with 'Noon Blue Apples'." - RAW Review |
